Bloody Mary – A Fresh Wholesome Version
Want to kick the hangover? Have another family get together today that involves yet more food and drink? Just simply want a delicious and nutritious drink to pick you up and get your year started off the healthy way? This recipe is for all of you.
To make this healthier than the classic Bloody Mary recipe you need to ditch something, the standard cartoned tomato juice! It’s full of sugar and will do you no good. A mix is no good either! Try this instead:
Blend (serves 2):
- 1 carrot
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 tomato
- 1/3 cup red onion
- a splash of hot sauce
- 1/2 limes juice
- 1/2 a lemons juice
- splash worcester sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- a shot of good quality vodka (optional) – I like Grey Goose if I have vodka with it
(taste and adjust seasoning to your liking)
Pour over ice and garnish with a celery stick and a little splash of Worcester sauce.
